Additional Puppet Design Work

Sean has been a puppeteer since he was just three, after convincing his parents to buy him his first puppet at a swap meet. He specializes in large scale puppet and mask design and fabrication for theater, opera and film with an aesthetic that oscillates between the surreal to the whimsical.
His creations are often inspired by Bunraku puppetry traditions from Japan as well as mashups of multiple forms of puppetry including rod, black light and hand puppets.

Sean's design work has been seen on stages large and small including South Coast Repertory, The Getty Villa, A Noise Within, Cornerstone Theater Company, Rogue Artists Ensemble, Chicago Opera Theater and the Long Beach Opera.
